What is an Enhanced Recovery Worker?
Our Enhanced Recovery Workers work within GP surgeries across the county, empowering people to take control of their mental health and wellbeing. They do this through giving them time; focusing on ‘what matters to me’; taking a holistic approach to health and wellbeing; and connecting people to community groups and statutory services for practical and emotional support.
Who is an Enhanced Recovery Worker for?
Patients of a GP surgery, over the age of 14 with mild to moderate mental health conditions; people who need support with their mental health; people who are lonely or isolated; and those with complex social issues that affect their wellbeing.
What can’t an Enhanced Recovery Worker do?
Enhanced Recovery Workers are non-clinical, meaning they cannot prescribe or advise on medication, or issue sick/fit notes. They also cannot work with any patient already accessing other mental health services, or anyone in crisis.
If you, or someone you know, is at immediate risk, call 111 option 2 or 999 in emergencies.
