Front of shirt to feature Norfolk and Waveney Mind ahead of World Mental Health Day
Norwich City are delighted to confirm that the Norfolk and Waveney Mind logo will feature on the shirts of the first team for this weekend's Sky Bet Championship fixture against Preston North End at Carrow Road.
The club's principle partner, Lotus Cars, have kindly agreed to gift the front of shirt position to help raise awareness of Norfolk and Waveney Mind and their important work ahead of World Mental Health Day on Monday, October 10.
Norfolk and Waveney Mind will also be present at Carrow Road on the day of the takeover fixture on Saturday, October 8, meaning fans can have the opportunity to speak with representatives from the charity prior to kick-off.
Our women’s team will also be warming up in shirts using the Norfolk and Waveney Mind logo ahead of their next fixture on Tuesday, October 11, at the Nest against Cambridge City.
Lotus Cars Group VP and managing director Matt Windle said: “We were so impressed with the work that Norwich City has done in support of mental health awareness so far, particularly with the launch of this year’s home kit.
“As the front of shirt sponsor this season, we at Lotus really wanted to be involved in the next opportunity to show our support for the local community on such an important cause.
“Even if just one person reaches out to Mind after seeing their logo on the shirt, then it has been a successful initiative.”
Director of strategy and business development at Norfolk and Waveney Mind Ashley Bunn is honoured by Lotus’ sponsorship donation. He said: “We can’t thank Lotus and the club enough for this opportunity.
“This will provide us with an amazing platform to raise the profile of mental health and our charity within the region.
“Everybody has mental health and it is essential that people know where they can access support, should they need it.”
Norwich City head coach Dean Smith said: "Since I joined this football club, I’ve been really proud of some of the wider work that the club does in and around its community and activation campaigns. This afternoon, we thank Lotus for gifting the front of shirt sponsorship position to Norfolk and Waveney Mind.
“As a club, we’ve been really proactive in pushing the important message of mental health. Ahead of World Mental Health Takeover Day on October 10 and following on from some of our recent activity, we wanted to use this fixture to highlight some of the excellent work that the team at Norfolk and Waveney Mind deliver in and around the region."
