Local Mental Heath Charity opens community wellbeing hub in Thetford

Local mental health charity, Norfolk and Waveney Mind are delighted to announce the opening of their latest community wellbeing hub, REST, at Breckland House, Thetford.

REST stands for Recover, Eat, Support, and Talk, reflecting the different ways we can be more connected in our community. The hub brings together mental health support, local services and a place where everyone can feel welcome.

The Hub, which recently opened provides free, walk in, mental health support and signposting services from 10:30am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Sam Apeh, Hub Manager at Norfolk and Waveney Mind, said: “REST Thetford is a great example of how we are providing mental health services differently to anything we have done before.

“Our ambition is to ensure no one has to face poor mental health alone. To deliver on this, we will continue to invest in mental health services which are people centered and break down access barriers so more people can get help and support closer to home.”

Steve James, Executive Director at Breckland Council said: “A key priority within our Inspiring Communities Programme is to support people with mental health issues.  To deliver on this priority, we wanted to form a partnership that would help deliver solutions locally and drive the very best outcomes for our residents when they need help the most.”
