New REST Hub cafe and Evening Sanctuary opens in Thetford

Local mental health charity, Norfolk and Waveney Mind are delighted to announce the opening of their latest REST café and evening crisis sanctuary which complements their already established REST Community Wellbeing Hub based in Breckland House.

REST stands for Recover, Eat, Support, and Talk, reflecting the different ways we can be more connected in our community. The hub brings together mental health support, local services and a place where everyone can feel welcome.

The hub was officially opened on 25th January with a ribbon cutting ceremony performed by The Lady Dannatt, Lord-Lieutenant of Norfolk and Pete Boczko, CEO at Norfolk and Waveney Mind, said: “REST at Riverside, Thetford joins our growing provision of community wellbeing hubs across Norfolk and is another great example of how we are providing mental health services differently to anything we have done before.

“Our ambition is to ensure no one has to face poor mental health alone. To deliver on this, we will continue to invest in mental health services which are people centered and break down access barriers so more people can get help and support closer to home.”

REST at Riverside, Thetford joins the charity’s growing portfolio of community hubs, following the opening of REST Norwich, REST Thetford (Breckland House), REST Aylsham and REST King’s Lynn.   The charity plans to open similar hubs in North Walsham and Great Yarmouth in the coming months.
