Walk, run or cycle 3K per day this January and support your mental health!
Local mental health charity, Norfolk and Waveney Mind are inviting local people to kick start 2023 in the most positive way by taking part in their 3K per day challenge.
The month-long initiative encourages local people to get active this January to support their mental wellbeing whilst raising funds to support the charity’s vital work within the community. Research shows that physical activity can have a positive impact on your mental wellbeing and even reduce symptoms of mental illness such as depression and anxiety.

Alex Wiseman, Partnerships and Income Generation Manager at Norfolk and Waveney Mind, said: “With 84 % of people experiencing a mental health problem at some point in their lifetime, we know that the feeling the symptoms of low mood, depression, anxiety and difficult life circumstances are not limited to one month per year. 3k per day is just the start and we’d hope that those taking part will continue to incorporate regular physical activity into their life.
You can walk, run, cycle (whatever you fancy!) the aim is to get moving daily, whilst raising awareness and support for mental health. For extra motivation, encourage your friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you for taking on this challenge. Funds raised from supporters taking on physical challenges like this help us to ensure that no one in Norfolk and Waveney has to face poor mental health alone.”
